About the 2014 Workshop

In June 2014, a diverse group of people with a shared passion for our oceans got together on BC's central coast. The overarching goal of this workshop was to examine the ecological, socio‐economic and cultural trade‐offs triggered by the recovery and return of sea otters. Through the lens of traditional knowledge, and western science, we aimed to equip coastal communities with shared knowledge and ecosystem‐based strategies to navigate the profound transformations that occur with the recovery of this predator.
